In science yesterday we made 2 different types of bird feeders. One, we made out of a old juice bottle, and the other we mixed lard, peanut better bird seed and some other ingredients to make a suet feeder. We are waiting for the birds to find them and see what birds like what food the best.


Gregory is having fun With Math-U-See. He loves that 9 is like a vacuum sucking on from what ever it is being added to the make itself a 10. He also wanted to use the math balance today :)

The girls Biome presentations Elizabeth researched and told us about the Tropical Rainforest. She had a beautiful set us with playmobil and a story line of some friends who were doing research about the different animals and plants and the layers of the forest. Anne-Marie chose the Taiga or Borial Forest Biome. She made this poster with the research she did. She was hesitant to present it so I asked her questions and she was able to answer about animals, plants, weather and more. Felicity worked on the dessert biome. She didn't find all the info she wanted, but was happy to present what she did find. She liked the names of the plants the best I think, some of them make her giggle :)

My latest idea of what we are going to try in regards to language arts... here goes nothing...     We are continuing our study of birds and a neighbour gifted us a bird skull that was found in their garden. Our next chapter in on bird nests so I have pulled out the 2 nests that we usually save for the Christmas tree for the kids too look at while we are reading and talking about different types of nests. Elizabeth's copy work, crossword puzzle, fact wheel, and Fascinating facts for chapter 4. Chapter 4 was on how birds fly and migration. In art we have been looking at Greek Idealism and Roman Naturalism.  Last we was a bit of a non-week with thanksgiving and Thursday Peter had dental work done at the hospital, and Friday I spend recovering from Thursday. I will try to get some pictures of what was done.
